1. Information We Collect

When you use PeerPull, we may collect the following information:

• Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Profile information: Avatar, expertise areas, and bio that you choose to provide.
• Content: Video feedback you record (including screen capture and audio), feedback requests you submit, ratings, written comments, and any associated text or URLs.
• Website content: When you record a video review, the recording captures whatever is visible on your screen, which may include text, images, and other content on the website being reviewed.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions within the platform.
• OAuth data: If you sign in via Google or another provider, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from that provider.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the PeerPull platform.
• To manage your account, PeerPoints balance, and feedback queue position.
• To send notifications about feedback activity (configurable in your settings).
• To improve the platform and develop new features.
• To prevent fraud and enforce our terms of service.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure. We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data. Video feedback is stored in secure cloud storage. The web application uses cookie-based authentication. The Chrome extension stores authentication tokens locally in your browser (via chrome.storage.local) to maintain your session.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• With other users: Your profile name, avatar, and video feedback are visible to the users you are exchanging feedback with.
• Service providers: We use third-party services (e.g., email delivery, cloud hosting) that process data on our behalf.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Your Rights

You can access, update, or delete your profile information from your account settings. To request full deletion of your account and associated data, please contact us.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. These are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled.

7. Chrome Extension (PeerPull Companion)

The PeerPull Companion Chrome extension collects and processes data as described below. The extension only collects data when you actively use it to record or submit a review.

Data collected by the extension:

• Authentication tokens: Stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) to maintain your session with the PeerPull platform. Tokens are refreshed automatically and cleared when you log out.
• Profile information: Your name and email are cached locally to personalize the extension interface (e.g., greeting you by name).
• Screen and audio recordings: When you start a recording, the extension captures your screen (the active browser tab) and microphone audio. Recordings are uploaded to secure cloud storage and shared only with the product owner (for queue reviews) or via a link you choose to share (for public reviews).
• Page URL and title: The extension reads the active tab's URL and title to display in the side panel and to associate with your review. This is not collected passively; it is only read when you are actively using the extension.
• User preferences: Settings such as your selected microphone device and setup test results are stored locally in your browser.

Browser permissions:

The extension requests permissions for screen capture, microphone access, tab management, and local storage. These permissions are used solely to enable video recording and session management. The extension does not track your browsing history, monitor your activity outside of active recordings, or collect data from websites you visit unless you choose to record a review.

All data collected by the extension is governed by this privacy policy. We do not sell extension data or use your recordings for any purpose other than delivering feedback within the PeerPull platform.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
